Measurements
The numbers, and how we got them.
We tell you this site is accessible and collects nothing. Here is the test that produced those claims, so you can check rather than take our word for it.
Accessibility
Every page is tested with axe-core 4.12.1 against WCAG 2.0 A/AA, 2.1 A/AA and 2.2 AA, at a 320 px viewport — the reflow width required by SC 1.4.10. Each page is tested in every combination of theme, accent and text size, because a colour or a size that only passes in one setting has not passed.
| Page | Combinations | Violations | Overflow |
|---|---|---|---|
| Products | 12 | 0 | 0 |
| About | 12 | 0 | 0 |
| Contact | 12 | 0 | 0 |
| Policies | 12 | 0 | 0 |
| Measurements | 12 | 0 | 0 |
| Total | 60 | 0 | 0 |
“Overflow” counts any element wider than its container at 320 px — content you would have to scroll sideways to read.
What this site sends and stores
Measured by loading the site with a request monitor attached and reading the browser’s own storage afterwards, in the default state.
- External requests0 — every file is served from this site. No fonts, scripts, tag managers, maps or CDNs.
- Cookies0 set, by us or anyone else.
- Session storage0 entries.
- Local storage0 entries until you change a display setting. After that, one entry holding your reading preferences, on your device only. It is never transmitted.
You can confirm all of this yourself: open your browser’s developer tools, reload any page, and look at the Network and Application tabs.
When this updates
The test runs before any change goes live, and this page is generated from its output rather than written by hand — so the date above is the date of the last run, not the last time someone remembered to edit it.
If a run ever fails, the honest options are to fix it or to publish the failure here. We would rather show a number we do not like than quietly delete the page.
What this does not prove
- Automated testing catches a minority of accessibility problems. Typically cited at around a third. It cannot tell you whether a heading makes sense, whether a flow is navigable by keyboard in practice, or whether a screen reader announces something usefully.
- No independent audit has been done. These are our own measurements of our own site. They have not been verified by a third party.
- This covers this website only — not Shard Audit or Shard Books, which are separate codebases in private beta.
- Zero violations is a floor, not a ceiling. If something here does not work for you, that is a finding we want — tell us.
